Tuesday, Movie Day, In the Snow.

Just Enjoying Ice Cream
On a Hot Summer Day.

Success at last. I've been looking to buy Sweetie a new pair of slip on tennis shoes. And finally, we are successful in that endeavor.

Yesterday was a cold and drizzling day. I didn't play golf, so I kept Sweetie home with me. She doesn't know what a special day it is for her, she just thinks it is a day. What part of normal isn't in her conscious mind. She just knows she's with me.

When she got up and came down stairs, I could tell, she didn't know where she was. She came into my room with a vacant look on her face. Seeing me, she came in and sat down, she wasn't alone at last, and that made her feel better.

After a bowl of cereal, upstairs to brush hair and teeth, dress and off to do the day.

We ended up at the mall, again, and did our laps. It seemed that the quest of the day was to find some new shoes for Sweetie. As you know, I've been looking for slip ons and the biggest challenge was to find a pair that she didn't have to push her foot in. We had already stopped at one shoe store, and first they didn't have shoes that were her size, and the ones that might fit, were ugly.

As we walked around the mall, we stopped at the Foot Emporium and went looking. Saw some P.F. Flyers and Kids. Talk about a trip down memory lane, seeing those brands brought back so many memories of childhood days. I digress, as we looked around we found the same old style, small opening for the foot to slide in and strong elastic bands to keep the foot in the shoe.

Then, Eureka, the wonder of wonders, I found just the style I was looking for. Skeecher's had a style that resembled penny loafers. They were perfect, and even in her size. She tried them on, and loved them. Easy on, easy off. and the sole of a cross trainer. When we purchased them, I had the clerk throw her old shoes away. It was one of the better ideas of the day. Because we didn't bring the old ones home, they were quickly forgotten. She turned into a little girl, again, and was showing off her new shoes to anyone who would listen. So cute. It was the nicest Easter Egg of the day.

The reason I wanted that type of shoe became obvious when we got home. Potty time and a need to get fresh underwear on. With the slip ons, she just kicked them off for easy removal of her pants and underwear. With her tie shoes, it was a project to get just the shoes off. Nice to have eliminated a step while caring for Sweetie.

The sun is up, lighting up the backyard and I can now see the snow that was dropped last night. Just a covering, maybe an inch. It also marks the time for me to head on down the road to Dementia Town. My Driver is outside waiting for me. He really knows how to keep our ride shinning bright. Gotta go, slipping into the passenger's side, and off. Keeping our Shinny Side Up. May you have a good day, and remember to keep your Shinny Side Up, it makes for a better day. God Bless.
