We're back. |
I am happy to report, we're back and OK. It seems that I was correct it was that Sweetie was dehydrated. When she got up yesterday morning, she was as dry as the New Mexico's desert. So I spent the day pushing Gatorade and water in her. Her appetite was way down, but I did get her to eat something, a Easter Egg day all in all.
Toward the end of the day, and because we didn't do anything, Mr. Sundowners came and paid us a visit. It was the same old drive, to get out of the house to help the "boys". I've found that if I just stand at the only door she can get outside and block her path, it is the easiest solution to her getting out. She will ask questions, yell, and cry, then walk away and wander the house.
The easiest answer for her boredom was a car ride. Told her where I was going and ask if she wanted to go with me. Yes, was her answer, and once in the car, a shot of CBD, buckled in, and off we went. Soon, Mr. Sundowners got out of the car and Sweetie got in. It was a great call.
In life it seems, that we go from problem to problem and the fun times just don't last as long as I'd like. As I head for the week ahead, there is a situation staring me in the face already. Friday, my support group is going to a park and having a face to face meeting for the first time since the pandemic. Now I'm looking for someone to watch Sweetie so I can attend. The one daughter that I was hopping would help, has a prior engagement, and the others are working. So, I'm counting on my Driver to lead me to a solution.
Today is a new day, and I'm going to spend most of the morning on the Road to Dementia Town. It may not sound relaxing, and if you think that way, you don't understand the rest and re-charge I get being in the passenger seat and listening to my Driver. I've learned to trust and obey, for there is the answer. I may not like the answer at the time, but in the end, it is the right answer. I'm out of here, got my cool sunglasses on, it is going to be a bright day, buckled in, and down the Road to Dementia Town we go. Driver knows the way, as we drive, with our Shiny Side Up. We sure could use some like-minded company, so why don't you join us, heading down the Road to Dementia Town, Keeping your Shiny Side Up. Have a great day what ever you do. Love Ya, and God Bless.
