I Love You. |
Morning my friends, yesterday was a great Easter Egg Day. From the simplest things like a wet pull up in the morning. Sound gross, but from the dehydration from the day before, a full pull up is a good sign to start the day.
Its the mornings with Sweetie that are the most enjoyable times I have with her. Her Dementia brain is as charged as it is going to be, and she is a joy to be with. For me, it is the same old thing, day in and day out. For Sweetie, it is all new to her. I used to think it was an act, now, I know better. As we sit on our old couch, watching the sun over the Sandia's, listening to the finches and doves tweeting and hooting, seeing her see something and she points it out to me. These are going to be the Easter Eggs I'll remember as time goes on.
Had a great day on the course, I'm learning not to make a discouraging remarks about bad shots, just shrug them off and keep going. When it comes to my emotional health, it effects hers as well. If I'm happy, she's happy, if I get upset, she senses that to, and reacts accordingly. Oh, the things I learn about myself while I care for her.
I have to tell you something that was another Easter Egg. Told you about the daughters and the ring. The one who had the ring and the one that wanted it. After that was all straightened out, I then gave the Oldest her mom's wedding ring. We went over yesterday and gave it to her. I had an old ring box, and put it in it. When she opened the box, her face was what I'd hope to see, and the tears that came with it. Makes me misty eye as I tell you about it.
These are the things that my Driver has prepared for me. Around every curve, just over the hill, there is peace, love and comfort waiting for me. He knows where to take me, and what I need, even when I don't know what I need or want. He is here everyday without fail, and so with that, time to find my cool sunglasses, and head for the car. You know, it seems shinier today then yesterday. Cool, off we go, down the Road to Dementia Town, with our Shiny Side Up. May you find what you need down the road, around the curve, or over the next hill, just remember to Keep your Shiny Side Up as you motor down the Road to Dementia Town. A good day is awaiting. Love Ya, God Bless.
