Bright eyes and smiling.

Christmas 2019

Since my friend told me how much Sweetie has aged, it seems that I now look at those pictures I have of her in a different way. Like this one she looks healthy, bright eyes, and smiling. Not so these days. Dementia is affecting her physical health more and more each day.

Yesterday was a good day for getting things done. I signed us up with a funeral policy to take care of that which needs to be done. I felt relief getting it over with. Now I can let the kids know that all of that is taken care of.

Golf was good, played with a couple of young men that gave me a good run for my game. It is nice when I can have some competition. Sweetie made it through the round with somewhat ease.

Got a late start because of the the what we did earlier in the day. Sweetie was upset, as I thought she would be. Someone new in the house, and she just wouldn't go away. I believe it wore on her and last night, she went upstairs to sleep. As I sat on the couch, waiting for her to return, watching TV, I waited. She didn't come down, so I went up, and we slept together in our old bed. It was nice.

I can say that, as the hills and valleys go by. Looking out the window, speeding along the Road to Dementia Town. Driver sitting tall, paying attention to the road, as we travel with our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv Ya, and God Bless.
