Her smile.
It is her smile that is her high water mark for me. I can tell when she is doing fine, by her smile. It is expressive, it is positive, and her face is alive.
When she is out of sorts, I seek it. I'll use different technics to get her to smile. From a gentle hand squeeze to our new Waa Wa language. Even if it is for a moment, the smile will come to the surface and tell me she is with me and is willing to continue.
This is especially important when we are walking the mall. As her energy is used up, I can continue to encourage her to make it back to the car. It looks like I may have to adjust the distance we walk. Just another challenge for us as we live from day to day.
Sunday
Sunday, lately, seems to be the hardest day to get over. I think it could be the simple fact that we don't have the busy mornings that we have the rest of the week.
It could also be that is the morning that we shower together and she gets her hair washed. I was told that there will be a point that she won't allow me to shampoo her hair. That is when I'll get some of that waterless shampoo for her.
I'm not ready to give up our shower day. It is the only day that we rub our naked bodies together. Nothing as imamate as lover's do, but enough for me to glean a reminder of what was. She is still and always will be a beauty in my eyes.
Being Sunday, after her shower, it was time for her to get on the scales and check her weight. She has gained two pounds, which I think is good for her. It would be a weight loss that would make me concerned.
Got her dressed, out to the table and turned on church. She sat and watched the message and allowed it to flow into her heart. I went back to finish my shower.
Thought we'd have French toast this morning. One slice each, not much, but it works. With Sweetie concentrating on the message, I cleaned up and got ready for the rest of the day.
Sweetie's idea for the rest of the day, was to spend it in her safe spot, in bed, curled up on her pillow. OK, so I watch some movies.
After awhile, it was time for her to get up and get going. Out of the bed, into the car and headed for our walk about mall. With that completed, headed back home.
As afternoon turned to evening and dinner, she was ready to eat, so a small dinner, then later desert on the couch, watched "Trouble with the Curve." A good non violent movie, a good story if you like family/baseball movies. Holding hands, and watching. Then to bed and checking the "Good Day" box on mission accomplished sheet, off to sleep we went.
Driver did another great job steering the car. Missed all the big pot holes, and then there were some I think He hit on purpose. Kinda shake things up. All in all it was a good day to be on the Road to Dementia Town. Blue skies, birds flying over head, and with us Keeping Our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv Ya, and God Bless.
