Fall in my backyard.
The tree is much bigger now. This is Sweetie's tree. One that I did not care for because it blocked our view of the mountains to the east of us. It has grown and is still blocking the view, and yet, it seems to enhance the view.
Many things have changed over the years. Trees get bigger, what was important then doesn't seem to be as important today. Such as our view out the backyard. It is still there, but like a picture without a frame, it isn't as special until it is framed. The trees, the building up of what is across the street from us, the raising of the backyard fence, all seem to frame the view into a more beautiful view.
It is the same living with Sweetie. We are always making attempts get snapshots that we can frame and keep those times alive in my heart. There are sometimes that make me want to wrap up the times and hold them. She is so special to me.
Sunday
It is birthday party day for us. Nothing that is pressing, just another event on the schedule. Something to look forward to.
We have our normal morning routine, shower, shampoo, dressed and breakfast. Knowing that we have a few hours to kill, I take our time getting ready.
I'm dressing Sweetie in pink today. Festive colors for her. A lite pink, long sleeved t-shirt, and bright pink pants. A good combination for her.
I have some work to do on the computer, and she is watching TV.
Time to go, pack up Tweety and head out. When we get to the son's house, no one is there. Dang! Out come the smart phone, check the invitation to see they moved the location to a park.
Found out that while driving, the Corvette won't let me see the map on the phone while driving. Not sure of where we are going, I would stop, turn the car off, set up the phone again, find where we are, and where the park is. When we do find the park, the street we are on has been block off, so we have to navigate back out, and around to where they are.
Once there, we are greeted, and I find out that I wasn't the only one that didn't read the invitation, and wasn't the only one that came down the dead end street.
Daughter in law didn't back a cake, she made cupcakes. Great idea. Sweetie wasn't shy about eating what I offered. We ate our share, and visited with family. We were there for about two hours, and the time just flew by.
Home at last and get couch time.
Sunday, and it is pasta day for dinner. Sweetie likes the pasta and will eat until there isn't any left.
After dessert, we go and check her. This is where the evening got off track. She had a very messy bottom. And from what I could tell, it happen earlier in the day and she had been sitting in it for awhile. To the point she was very tender.
Had to shower her off, and once out, got the A&D out to put on her. She was so tender that it just killed her to let me touch her. Once done, she headed for her nest.
I wasn't ready for bed, so I did what comes natural, couch and TV. So when she came out, I was ready for her. She sat and I could tell she was still in pain. So we sat, held hands, and watched mind numb TV. Took awhile for the A&D to work, and when it eased the pain, she relaxed to the point of being ready for bed when I was.
Scratch one up on the good side of the score board. Driver was on the job today. It was a joy to be on the Road to Dementia Town. All the while we were Keeping our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv Ya, and God Bless. Arthur.
