The Nativity.
The weather is getting colder as we move towards Christmas, New Years, and winter. The thoughts come to me as to what are we going to do this winter? As of now, golf seem to be the only answer. On my Saturdays, if I cannot get out and do something without Sweetie, because of the weather, what shall I do?
Before Covid, I could go to the movies, and see something that I can't watch with her with me. Now some of the movies are opening up, that can become a alternative to golf. Just another something to ponder.
Friday
It is cold and windy this morning. My caregiver will be early, because I have a meeting at 10.
Sweetie isn't as co-opertive as I'd like her to be. This is starting to become her new normal in the morning. So, with a little prodding, she is up.
By the time my caregiver shows up, we are almost done with our bathroom duties. Sitting her at the table, I let the caregiver take over, and I'm off to my meeting.
Before I leave, we talk about the two events next year and how she can or cannot be able to help. When we think about it, it is somewhat of a crap shoot. A lot depends on where Sweetie is with her Dementia. Time will tell.
In my support group, we have three new widows. One of the men was my friend that invited me to this meeting. This is the first time he has been with us for almost a year.
It was a good meeting, and well attended. Haven't seen this many since Covid. We all had laugh when the discussion about using Viagra to prevent Alzheimer's, and the 69% effectiveness. As you can imagine, the jokes came fast and funny.
After the meeting, I headed for the golf course. It turned out not to be a good ieda. For the wind was blowing, and with the chill factor making it even colder, it was impossable to even try.
When I got home, Sweetie was smiling, and just finishing her lunch. The report was a good one. She had 3 glasses of water, which is a surprise, for she doesn't usually drink that much water.
After the caregiver left, we headed to the mall for our walk about. Sweetie is in a good mood, and I'm hoping that it will last the rest of the day.
We had a good walk about and when we got home it was time to settle in for the afternoon. Popped a bag of pop corn, grabbed a soda, and we sat down to finish "Grump Old Men." When it was over, the recomendation for the next movie was "Grumpier Old Men." I enjoy both of them, and was happy to watch it.
After dinner, we went to our meeting. It was well attended which made it a good meeting.
Home again to finish off the night. Dessert, TV and to bed. She was in a good mood as we held hands and said our nightly prayers. It didn't end there. For some reason she just couldn't go to sleep. I thought she was cold, so I turned up the thermostat, that didn't work.
After 2 hours of her clutching my hand, moving about, I gave her a dose of CBD, old reliable. She soon relaxed, and we were able to go to sleep.
Driving in the wind can be dangerous. At anytime, a gust can blow you out of your lane and into another. Driver was very skillful in keeping us in our lane this windy day on the Raod to Dementia Town. It was a struggle, but we were able to Keep Our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv Ya, and God Bless. Arthur.
