My lover of a life time.
Another morning, another day, and a new year. Her youngest daughter made this sweatshirt for her. One of the things that awaits me, it donating her clothes to some charity. I dress her is nice sweat pants and t-shirts. I find that they are the most univeral for her to wear. easy for me to dress her, and she can wear them anywhere we go.
We do have a couple of pairs of pants that I keep for special occasions. Like birthdays, Easter, and of course, Christmas. I don't think she knows that I'm dressing her "special" for where we are going, but I do, and that makes all the difference to me.
Tuesday
It was a good morning for us. Sweetie needed only a little help getting out of bed. She was awake, and when I suggested it was time to get up, she was almost eager to get up and get going.
With a arm under her shoulders, she sat up, and slid herself out of bed. I took this time to get a big hug from her. That is one of my joys, her hugs. They are becoming fewer these days.
Up, potty, and that means it is time for me to do some morning chores. Change her top sheet, and make the bed, then retieve her from the potty, put on dry pants, and breakfast.
This morning, instead of coffee, I've warmed up a glass of prune juice. Time to see if we can get something moving, and this is a move to the next level.
Don't like using Milk of Magnesia, to makes her too runny. Want to keep it as close to natural solutions as much as possiable.
With breakfast done, I'm making plans to head out to the course. It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. A bit warmer than yesterday, and with a few wispy clouds. Looks like a great day for Sweetie to be outside.
I'm right. After we get our cart, get a chance to use the handwarmers that my daughter sent Sweetie for Christmas. She had made mention of them as an answer to her cold hands.
The coat that she has has longer sleeve cuffs. They have a opening for her thumbs, which are somewhat of a glove for her hands, with fingers exposed. They are perfect for me to put the heat packs between the sleeve and her gloves. Have to be careful not to get them directely on her skin. It maybe too hot for her, and with the glove warming, it seems to be just right. Thank You Daughter.
Today's round turns out to be the best ever. Ended up with a 3 over, a Eagle, a Birdie, and two pars. Not one bad shot, not one word of curssing, and a great day on the course. Don't know which was better, the eagle on the third, or the birdie putt on the ninth. The putt was a down hill putt, and as I watched it, I thought it was going to stop just infront of the hole. It kept rolling, slowing down, rolling, slowing, and then plop, into the cup it went. You'd think I won the Master's with the yell of victory that came out of me. Yeaaaaaa!
It set the mood for the rest of the day. Home, lunch, and then a nap for Sweetie, TV for me, and waiting. Did a load of laundry, and waited for her to get up.
Off to the mall, then home. She is having more of a difficult time doing both laps. Soon, I'll be cutting the distance so she can still make the walk, shorter is better than nothing.
Our evening went as planned, and we finished watching TV, snuggling, and then to bed. That is where the most difficult part of the day came into play.
I've read of those who have problem with their Love Ones not sleeping. Sweetie is having her problems going to sleep at night. We will be in bed for one or two hours with her moving all about, pulling the blankets off of me, and just not a easy time of getting to sleep. I just hang in there, doing what I think will help her, and eventually she will drift off to sleep, and so will I.
It was a good day on the Road to Dementia Town. Yet as all road go, there were some rough spots towards the end of the days travels. Driver was there navigating the highway, and we were enjoying the drive. Always Keeping our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv Ya, and God Bless. Arthur.
