Memories
I'm late this morning. If there is such a thing of oversleeping when retired, that is what I did. Had a bit of a rough day yesterday.
Tuesday
Ordered fitted sheets for Sweetie's bed, and they showed up. Now I'm waiting for her aid to come and give her her bath. Tuesday is bath day. It is so nice that she gets this attention and I'm so appreciative of what they do.
Sweetie is sleeping more and more, so I begin my morning with her, talking, telling her what the plans of the day are. hoping that she will open her eyes and smile, well, maybe later in the day.
The nurse is here, and I'm getting ready to head to the course. That is when she asked me, "Have you said your good byes?" Have you told her it is OK for her to go, that you will be OK?" I hadn't.
In her estimation, Sweetie has about a week left with me. That it is time for anyone that hasn't yet and may want to, come and see her one more time and tell her their good byes.
She asked if I wanted the pastor to come and pay a visit. At first I said no, but she kept asking, so I said yes. Turned out to be a very good thing for us to do.
The pastor is a good musician, with a very good singing voice. When he got here, Sweetie had her eyes open, and he went right to her. As he talked to her, he asked if she would like to hear a song. So, we sang to her, "Amazing Grace, As we walk through the garden, It is well with my soul, and The Old Rugged Cross. Along with one that he composed.
Sweetie brightened up, and smiled as we sang to her. I even think she attempted to join us. She used to have a wonderful singing voice. After we prayed over her, we talked.
He is a wonderful, down to earth pastor. As we talked, we ended up talking about Tweety, and asked if he would like a ride in it, and of course the answer was "Yes!"
Off we went, for a quick spin, and just being two guys, talking cars and life. It was just what I needed.
There were times of tears in between visitors, and after pastor left, go busy dealing with what hasn't been done with yet. Getting Sweetie's money to her kids, where I won't have to pay any taxes on it. Almost done, will finish it on Wednesday.
Never did get to the course, but I did get to an evening meeting. A good way to finish the day.
It was as good of a day as it could be walking around Dementia Town. Found a pond, walked along the shore, watching the ducks, and enjoying the music in the background. Holding hands and knowing that it won't be much longer for us to go and see the Mayor of Dementia Town. So, until then we wait. C'ya, Luv Ya, and God Bless. Arthur.

I am glad the pastor came and you got to sing with Sweetie one more time. I have a busy day today but would love to catch up tomorrow if you want. Still here and still praying.
Love you, friend!
