Meteor Crater Az.
Maybe I shouldn't be looking at these pictures of Sweetie and me. For I can see how she has faded over the years. This was about 3 years ago, and now when I look at her, I can see how this disease has ravished her. Her face is full and she is just as beautiful as she can be.
We had a good day, it was a day that I was able to keep both of us busy. I got busy and cut some limbs off the tree in the back yard. Limbs that made it difficult to work under it. If there is a bright side to Dementia, it is giving me the last word. Sweetie would never of let me trim the tree like I did. For her it would have been an abomination to even think about it.
Now for the next couple of weeks, the job of cutting up the limbs so they will fit into the trash is something we can do together. I tried it and didn't have her dressed warm enough. She quickly went back into the house, she got was cold quickly. Dementia gets cold real fast, and takes its time in warming back up.
There is something going on with her right shoulder. She is in pain and can hardly move it. I was hoping that it would heal itself, but it is getting worse. I'm going to apply some heat therapy on it. I started yesterday, I'm hoping that I can continue without too much pushback from her. Dementia just will not let me take care of her, it is almost like a spiritual battle. Me on one side, trying to help, take care of her, and Dementia is on the other side, blinding her to the help she needs. I was able to get her to take some low dose aspirin for the pain, it seemed to help.
Have to report on dinner, she ate well. Thought I'd try some chili. Just fried up a hamburger patty, cut it up into bit size pieces, spooned the chili over it, with tater tots and cottage cheese. She just went for it, with gusto. Going to do that again. Also, got Red Velvet cake of dessert. Again, with many of "I don't know how to do this." it quickly disappeared from her plate.
Driver was full of wonders yesterday. Scattering Easter Eggs about, and they were so easy to spot, it was just a fun day. On the Road to Dementia Town, Keeping our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv ya, and God Bless.
