Welcome to my world.
Yep, the weather is getting warmer, the grass in getting green and the weeds are in full bloom. Haven't put out the humming bird feeders yet, that might happen today. We have one more storm heading this way, should hit us on Monday. Like, forecasting weather is about as accurate as my putting.
Got some good news from you lady caregiver, she thinks she has someone that will come in on the week days, especially my group support Fridays. That is a such good news. She is going to come with her next time and help introduce her to Sweetie, and learn what to do and how to treat her.
Saturday
We started our day a little shaky, Sweetie continues to move to the side of the bed and when I get her, she is stiff and sore from the awkward way she is laying, my observation. Because it was my day off, and I know my lady will want to bath her, I didn't shower her. She wasn't that bad, and dirt was present in her pullups.
I was eagerly waiting for her to show up, to the point of wondering if she wasn't going to show. I had fit my golf club and cart into Tweety and I was eager to get going. The first time to drive Tweety without Sweetie in a long, long time. Get to drive her like I stole her, Runn, Runn.
Had a great day on the course, played with a couple of guys, good conversation, good game, and good competition. Hope to meet up with them again.
When I got home, I couldn't find them. Check the doors, the rooms, and it wasn't until I stepped outside in the backyard, did I find them. Sitting on the couch was Sweetie, and my Lady was sitting in a chair next to her.
Sweetie greeted me with a smile, and patted the cushion next to her. I sat, we held hands and all the stars aligned themselves for that brief moment.
On my last drive, the clubhead came off its shaft, so I needed to get it repaired. I was able to get Sweetie into Tweety, and off we went. I didn't have to drive across town, I could of had the repair done at my local pro shop, but, what the hey, good excuse to go for a drive.
While we were out, stopped at Micky Dee's for a hamburger, fries, and a coke. A Big Mac meal, and a plain burger for Sweetie. Sat in the parking lot and had lunch out. Fun.
The day ended in our now normal ending. Sitting on the couch, watching old TV series. The last thing we watch is "Hee Haw.". Sweetie just smiles, giggles and laughs at a show that is still in her memory bank. I'm just amazed on how it helps us end our day.
With the top down, the sun shining on our faces, and Driver behind the wheel, we drove to and nice resting spot for the night. Driver found the places to see, the sights to behold, and beauty beyond belief. As we drove down the Road to Dementia Town, easily, Keeping our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv ya, and God Bless.
