Both stallions can live side by side.
The work horse and the racer can live side by side in the stable. For years we have garaged our cars. For after all, isn't that what the garage is for. I see so many people pack their garage with everything but cars. Even make the garage into another room for the house.
As we are now, we are cutting off living space in the house, we don't need that extra room. Then again, life has a way of inhaling and then exhaling. To grow and then to shrink again.
The idea is, as we start out, we need to expand our living space, and after we have reached our peak, we need to get rid of the things than no longer are needed. For us, it is the extra living space in our home.
As Sweetie and me settle into what will be our lifestyle for the rest of our lives, we, me, begin to see just what all it is we need to enjoy that which we have. Even the food in the refrigerator is less then before.
There isn't the hustle and bustle of what we used to call life. No work to run off to everyday, no planning the weekend for the pleasure or housework that we were going to do. We just try to enjoy that which we have.
I am grateful for Sweetie's Dementia at this time. For if it wasn't for her Dementia, we just might become couch potatoes. I find that if I keep her active, busy, and engaged, our days go by nicely.
Wednesday
When I got Sweetie up, she was a mess. We've been eating bran cereal for about 3 days now and the reaction kicked in last night.
Into the Shower she went, and I was glad we have set this part of her morning routine. It makes it so much more easier for us to get her clean.
There was a time when I was so worried about her being constipated, my worries, for at least this time, are no more. I also can remember a time when I was complaining about her little poops. Because of the newness of us getting used to her BMs, I've come to realize that is the way her body works. I've gotten used to finding evidence she as eliminated some waste from her body.
I've also have learned how her body aligns to where she does her business. I put a liner inside of the pullups, and by putting it where she eliminates to, I save at least one pullup a day. (Oh, before I put the liner in, I fold the top and bottom of the liner in. That way, I have a nonstick edge to help me remove the pad when needed to be changed.)
I don't know if it was her pulling herself up out of the Corvette, using her abs and pushing, caused her to be very active today. Every time I checked her, she was dirty. Even to the point of a second shower needed to clean her up. If that idea is right, I need to take her for more rides in Tweety, just to clean her out.
We had a good day and it seems that it is a good thing.
As we turn the corner, and head down the Road to Dementia Town, Driver turns and reminds us, that even in the mundane times of life, life still goes on. As it should, it is our choice on how we do it. For me and Sweetie, we choose to Keep Our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv Ya, and God Bless.
