My two loves, Sweetie and Tweety.
It was a frantic day, yesterday. With a call from the dealership that my car was on the way, should arrive this afternoon. It just added a cherry on top of what was going to be a busy day.
I may have wished for a different life in retirement. A time of travel, a time of sightseeing, and time of making memories. Taking those pictures of us being here, there and here again. Eating in different places, tasting different foods, see people that we've met on Facebook. A life of movement, hours on the road, and sleeping in strange places.
That hasn't happen, and it looks like when it does happen, I'll be a solo act. And you know, I'm comfortable with that.
For you see, because of this time I have with Sweetie, I'll never be alone. These past years have allowed me to marinate in her love. She has flavored me, put her scent on me, and everywhere I go, I can feel her with me.
Monday
When I went to get Sweetie up, something new has been added. She was laying there with her knees up and her pants and pullups down. She had peed and was wet from her back to her butt. This is the second time I've found her like that. The first time wasn't as wet as this time, so, that means I will need to get her up sooner rather than later.
Up, cleaned up, and dressed. Out for breakfast, and that means, time for me to eat and start the clean up.
Looks like I'll need to do a load of wash this morning. Sheet, mattress cover, and towels. Loaded and started.
Out the door to face a busy day head on.
Golf, as the first, then the mall and a walk about, home for a quick bite, then off the our meeting with our finical planner. To finish the day, to the dealership to sign the adoption papers for our new Tweety.
I knew my golf game would be a disaster, simply because my mind wouldn't be on it, no matter how hard I tried. So, I didn't, and because if that, I had a better round then I figured I'd have.
The mall crawl went well, then home for a applesauce for Sweetie, and out again. To our moneyman.
That went well, we are in great shape, investments doing well, and so far, a continuing growth in our portfolio.
Then is was time to get to the dealership. I knew it would be fun and scary at the same time. We were planning on making one trip. Sign and go. Like all good plans, life has a way of throwing a curve. We did some of the paper work, went home, got the checkbook, met with our son who was going to be our taxi back to get the car.
We were there for about another hour, and dear son kept Sweetie occupied until I got all the paper work sign, the key fobs in hand, and headed home.
I felt so impowered driving the new Tweety, I was just full of myself. Decided to show off the new car at our evening meeting. Instead of going home, we went to a meeting.
It was fun, having everyone come out to the parking lot to ooh and ahh it.
Finally home, warmed up some pasta for a quick bite to eat, and to bed.
Seems like Driver had to goose the car a little. The hills and telephone poles were going by a bit faster then normal. Busy day on the Road to Dementia Town today, And like always, Driver was in complete control. For He was Keeping Our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv Ya, and God Bless.
