Path to the Crash Site.
The picture above is somewhat like life. It seems to go nowhere, because you can't see the other side. You have to get up close to see what you have to do. At this point, we either have to climb up and over, or retreat and take the long way around. The choice is yours.
Because we had a good day, yesterday, I feel that today should be as good, if not better. This is where I need to be careful, for so many times I've walked right into a trap. A trap that I set up for myself to walk into. Thinking that this day will be better than yesterday.
That idea that she will get better, that for some miraculous wonder, my Sweetie will be returned to me. That she will start remembering all that which has been taken from her and me.
Unlike a ride at Disneyland, where you return to where you started from, this ride never returns to the loading docks. And unlike the ride, this is real, not imaginary. There is only one entrance, and one exit, and that exit, for now, is not in sight.
Thursday
A triple play day. Starting the morning adventure with the Bible Study. Sweetie seem lost in when we pull into the parking lot of the church. I can see by the number of cars, that we are the last to arrive.
We are met with warm greeting, and with a cup of coffee in hand, we find our place at the table, and get ready for some lively discussion.
Because there isn't a schedule of how long the study will last, there isn't much of a push to push through the lesson plan. There are rabbit trails on which translation to use, the history of the Lutheran, Baptist and Roman Catholic church, to even a little bio of the pastor's life as he was lead to be a preacher in this denomination.
I, for one, don't agree with in some of the doctrine of the Lutheran church, and as long as we are in a bible study, not a Lutheran study, all is well.
With a lively discussions on the different subjects that came up, the hour went by quickly. So, with a fond farewell till next week, we head for the golf course.
We had a good time on the course this day. Met up with Chris, and he joined us for a few holes. It was nice for the company and competition. Putting still sucks, but if I don't get lackadaisical, it does improve.
When we get home, I put Sweetie on the potty, expecting to stay for about 5 or 10 minutes with her. Just when I think it is time for her to get up, she pushes, and things happen, so we stay for another 5 minutes. This went on for about a half an hour. Tis better out then in.
Then down for her nap, and I did a load of wash. She had emptied the supply of top sheets and so I wash them, just incase I needed to change the bedding before Saturday.
Because it is a meeting night, dinner came earlier than normal. This night, we had salad to eat. Last time I tried this, she wasn't ready for it. This time, I cut the lettuce into chunks, added some ham and graded cheese, with Ranch dressing on top.
She was slow to eating the salad at first and then finding it delicious, she eagerly ate what I gave her. Again, after I fed her her portion, and went and refilled the bowel for my dinner, she ate about another quarter of my dinner. Which is fine with me. A healthy appetite is a good thing. Rather her eating extra, then not eating at all.
Dinner done, we head out for our Thursday night meeting. Had a small group, so it was an intimate meeting, which is sometimes good for all.
Home, watched a bit of TV, then to bed.
What else could be added to our journey this day? The sun was shining, the traffic was lite and moving at a safe speed. As Driver, Sweetie and Me were on the Road to Dementia Town, and with great ease, we Kept our Shiny Side Up. C'ya, Luv Ya, and God Bless. Arthur.
